The school is an institution which is accountable in molding learners into a responsible individual in the society. This is where one is shaped into a better person, who will be a symbol of the kind learning center where one is raised. The different concerns of school, aside from administrator and teachers demand working with others so as to achieve designed tasks and objective. These would need dedicated school personnel, supportive parents, responsible community and innovative learners.

The DepEd Memorandum No. 029, s. 2019 otherwise known as National Schools Maintenance Week, commonly known as Brigada Eskwela. This year’s theme “Matatag na Bayan para sa Maunlad na Paaralan”, aims to bring together all education stake holders to participate and contribute their time, effort and resources to prepare public school facilities for the opening of the school year in June. The duration of the said program is six days which starts on May 20, 2019 and will culminates on May 25, 2019. School heads shall take the lead role in planning the activities geared on making schools ecologically concious, resilient, clean and conducive to learning.

Brigada Eskwela 2019

To facilitate the opening of the Brigada Eskwela our school, TOMAS EARNSHAW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL had a kick off parade wherein teachers, parents and student volunteers participated. During the launching ceremony, our school head together with Brigada Eskwela’s focal persons, explained the objectives of the program. The parent volunteers in the community were also encouraged to help and apply the Bayanihan spirit.

Throughout the whole week stakeholders and volunteers gathered to help teachers and staff of TOMAS EARNSHAW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in cleaning the classroom, school grounds, garden and hallway. Brigada Eskwela volunteers weed unwanted plants, grasses and dried leaves at the back of the building where garden is located. In addtion, Some of the school lavatories and dilapidated chairs were fixed, walls from different areas, classrooms and the roof as well as benches in waiting shed were painted. Pruning of trees and unclogging of downspout and rain gutter was done. Moreover, our school Nurse gave an Orientation regarding WinS Program (Comprehensive water, sanitation and Hygiene in schools) to enrich teachers’, parents’ and students’ knowledge and understanding on the said program. Finally, Volunteers from different institution (Jollibee, McDonalds) and from Philippine National Police came to help in the clean-drive.
